Dog Bone 1/2 inch wooden bead

This is approximately a 1 inch bead made with a laser. The material is MDF (recycled) wood. The bead is "unfinished" but can be used as it is. You can use a variety of finishes depending on the application you are using the item for. In jewelry, we recommend a non-toxic finish/stain. Since it is made from wood, you can use any appropriate wood finish/stain that serves your purpose. These beads have been used to make pendants and earrings. They have also been used in craft applications such as gluing on to wooden picture frames. Items come with the "burned" look on them, but can simply be sanded off if desired. The back of the items will have various marks from the laser. These can also be sanded off as needed. *MDF is "recovered and recycled wood", manufactured using a refining process to allow the recycled material to be utilized in a variety of ways. We choose to use MDF because it is a recycled product as well as the added benefit of resistance to warping (in high-humidity areas, warping can be a problem for wood items). The finished product is both beautiful, and better than chopping down additional trees.
